Three months before the European elections and after Valérie Hayer, majority candidate, on Saturday March 9 it is the turn of Raphaël Glucksmann to launch his campaign in Lyon on Sunday March 10. The joint candidate for the Place publique movement and the Socialist Party is given third in voting intentions at this stage, behind the National Rally and Renaissance. The objective for him is to continue on his upward trajectory until June 9 and to get effective votes on the left.
It is the macronie which is targeted in the speeches, described by those close to Raphaël Glucksmann as a party of liberals who claim to be the only pro-Europeans. During his meeting, the candidate himself attacks “I see the strategy clearly. They will do everything to renationalize the debate, to once again replay the Macron-Le Pen match for us and lock us into the call for a barrage. This will not work”he insists.
Highlight the differences with Renaissance
On his European program, the Public Place-Socialist Party candidate highlights his differences with the presidential party. “The reaffirmation of politics requires bringing private interests into line which are in contradiction with the general interestaffirms Raphaël Glucksmann. Emmanuel Macron and his group will never, ever assume this. They will never oppose Über, Dassault, Total or BNP.” He then defends taxation for multinationals in order to finance the ecological transition, or even an overhaul of the CAP (common agricultural policy). He mentions neither La France Insoumise, nor the Ecologists, nor a word about this left which presents itself fragmented on June 9, in order to put forward an idea: it is the useful vote.
