Reconfirming its late arrival in 2024 in the face of American competition in this new segment, the truck subsidiary of Stellantis wants to make this creation a cooperative effort. Representatives will therefore participate in various events to collect suggestions, observations and requests from potential customers. A website has also been developed to ensure dialogue. In terms of marketing, this strategy cultivates a stronger sense of belonging.
The idea, very interesting, undoubtedly differs from the less open approach of developing new models. Ram will also be able, in parallel, to learn from the experience of owners of the first electric vans to ensure its competitiveness. It will obviously be necessary to wait to see if these requests will translate into tangible characteristics in the final form of the project.
Ram took advantage of the announcement to showcase an image of the pickup truck’s platform, incorporating all of the powertrain components as well as the battery into a near-flat, rather compact package commonly referred to as a “skateboard”. The manufacturer also wants to electrify its models in “the majority” of the segments it occupies, without specifying the preferred level of electrification.
