It is Claudine Bourbonnais who will officially take the helm of the Weekend newscast of Radio-Canada, a position occupied until last year by Pascale Nadeau.

The Director General of Information of Radio-Canada, Luce Julien, confirmed Thursday the appointment of Mme Bourbonnais, who therefore officially takes over from Pascale Nadeau, whom she replaced in this position on Here TV and Here RDI, since her controversial departure in the summer of 2021.

“Claudine Bourbonnais has been a pillar of the Réseau de l’information (RDI) since it opened in 1995,” explains Luce Julien. She has established a privileged relationship with the public as the host of the Weekend midday newscast from 2005 to 2021. She is distinguished by her rigor and mastery of current national and international issues. It is directly in line with the tradition of excellence of Newspapers of Radio Canada. »

A radio-Canadian career

Claudine Bourbonnais joined Radio-Canada as a radio journalist in Edmonton in 1990. From 1991 to 1995, she was a radio public affairs journalist for the program Montreal express. At RDI since 1995, she has collaborated on numerous programs: Express morning, Morning express weekend, RDI weekend morning, The National and info.

The host also published the novel Metis Beach (Éditions du Boréal) in 2014 and the new Trapped in Bridgesa collective under the direction of Chrystine Brouillet, published by Éditions Druide in 2020.
