(Paris) The French Football Federation (FFF) wants to prosecute the authors of racist comments on social networks targeting certain players of the national team following its defeat against Argentina in the final of the World Cup.
The organization said on Tuesday that players had been the target of “unacceptable racist and hateful comments on social networks” and that it intends to file a complaint against those who posted these comments online.
In a press release, the FFF “vehemently condemned these behaviors”.
Members of the French government have also expressed their indignation following the publication of these insults. Isabelle Rome, Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, notably reported that Kylian Mbappé and Kingsley Coman, who are black, had launched targeted players.
Bayern Munich, where Coman plays, also condemned the remarks he was the target of.
