Fans of the rock group Queens of the Stone Age, recharge your voices and prepare your signs with your special requests, because the American group will not hesitate to deviate from its game plan to grant your wishes.
Queens of the Stone Age, a world-renowned rock quintet with multiple Grammy nominations, is coming to our province this weekend with its tour The End Is Nerowhich will stop in Laval on Saturday and in Quebec City on Sunday.
In interview with The newspaper, the band’s lead guitarist, Troy Van Leeuwen, admitted that the group has never been in better shape since its creation in the 1990s. With this wind blowing in their wings, the veterans of the rock scene are allowing themselves more to take the pulse of their faithful during their shows.
“We like to go on adventures during our shows, taking the time to see what the crowd wants to hear,” explains Troy Van Leeuwen. “It keeps everyone on the edge of their seats because we can please a superfan who wants a less popular song, like we can play our old classics or our new songs,” he adds.
Obviously, these are not just empty words. On Monday, during a concert the group gave in Oshawa, Ontario, singer Josh Homme let the crowd choose between three songs that he saw written on spectator signs. It is finally Sick, Sick, Sickpublished on the album Era Vulgarisin 2007, who won.
“We are here for you, not for us,” the singer told admirers, according to an Australian media outlet that closely follows the group’s tour.
Without knowing exactly what Queens of the Stone Age has in store for its audience for its concerts in Quebec and Laval, we can still expect to hear recent hits, like Emotion Sickness And Carnavoyeurtwo tracks taken from their latest album, In Times New Roman…, which total 22.6 million plays on Spotify.
After its trip to Ontario, which will end on April 12 in Ottawa, Queens of the Stone Age will head to Laval for a show at Place Bell on April 13, and will be in Quebec the next day to perform at the Videotron Center.
