Quebec series finalists in Banff

The emperor, Witches And Without an appointment are part of the Quebec series competing for the Rockie Awards at the Banff International Media Festival.


Unveiled Thursday, the list of finalists includes titles from around thirty countries. In the section reserved for fiction series in a language other than English, Happiness (VAT), Bombs (Plus Series), Without an appointment (ICI Tou.tv Extra) and Breathe in breathe out (Crave) received a nomination in comedy, while Good morning Chuck (Crave)Witches (VAT) and The emperor (Noovo) stand out on the drama side.

Among short formats, we notice the presence, in fiction, of Vintage heart with Émilie Bibeau, and Papineau doesn’t mind, both of which can be found on ICI Tou. TV. On the non-fiction side, Don’t lie to youa magazine dedicated to the black communities of Quebec offered on ICI Tou.tv, obtains a nomination.

UnisTV offering about a basketball team made up of Quebec, French and African teenagers who live together in a church in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, 300 baskets could win the prize for best sports documentary. Wood heads (Zeste) with Mathieu Baron and Martin Picard could be crowned best reality TV.

The winners will be revealed on June 11. Several big American guns appear on the list, including Succession (HBO), The Last of Us (HBO) and Gen V (Prime Video) for English-language drama series, and Abbott Elementery (ABC), The Great (Prime Video) and The Other Black Girl (Disney+) on the comedy side.
