Quebec | Police groups carry out a strike against drug trafficking

(Quebec) The Quebec Organized Crime Investigation Team has carried out a series of arrests and searches related to drug trafficking.


The operation which mobilized more than thirty police officers from various services on Thursday resulted in three arrests, one man and two women. These individuals have been released pending further legal proceedings.

During this police strike, a total of five searches were also carried out at different addresses on the territory of Quebec City, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said in a press release on Friday.

Among the items seized are approximately four kilos of cocaine, just over 550 methamphetamine tablets, two cocaine presses, about fifteen cell phones and two seized vehicles. The police also recovered several sums of money: nearly $615,000, around US$1,500 and nearly 1,500 euros, detailed the SQ.

The municipal police forces of Quebec and Lévis, as well as the Integrated Team to Fight Arms Trafficking (EILTA), the Saguenay Regional Mixed Squad, the Quebec Organized Crime Intervention Division and the Border Services Agency of Canada also participated in the operation.
