Quebec has 60 fewer COVID-19-related hospitalizations

Quebec reports Thursday 15 new deaths linked to COVID-19, as well as a significant drop in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1162 hospitalizations, a decrease of 60 compared to the previous day. Sixty-eight people are in intensive care, one less than Wednesday.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,267 new cases. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to certain priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 933,443 infections have been reported, and 14,141 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 105,574 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform set up by the government, including 82,427 positives. For Wednesday, 444 tests were reported, including 327 positive.

The Ministry of Health says 13,407 tests were carried out on Wednesday and the positivity rate is 9.7%.

Regarding vaccination, 6563 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 52% received a third dose.
