Quebec | An octogenarian succumbs to his injuries, three days after a pileup

(Quebec) The driver who allegedly caused three successive collisions that occurred Thursday in Quebec City has died from his injuries.

This was indicated by Sergeant Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on Sunday morning, without immediately specifying the identity of the victim. However, we know that he is an octogenarian; his passenger, a woman in her sixties, was seriously injured.

These two people were in a minivan that veered out of its lane on October 26, around 5:45 p.m., on Highway 573 in the Val-Bélair sector, also known as the Henri- IV.

This resulted in three successive collisions, with the victim’s vehicle being hit twice after going into reverse. There was a road closure during the investigation between Avenue Industrielle and Rue de Montolieu.

Three other people suffered injuries, but their lives are not feared.

It is not yet clear why the octogenarian driver deviated from his lane.
