(Quebec) A work accident claimed the life of a 56-year-old man on Thursday morning in an industrial district of Quebec.
According to initial information from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ), the worker was injured after “may have received a certain load of metal on him”.
The accident occurred on Provinciale Street, in the area of the Duberger industrial park. Arriving on scene after a call to 911 around 11:30 a.m., the first responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the victim.
The man was pronounced dead in hospital.
The SPVQ deployed investigators and the Forensic Identification Unit to determine the circumstances surrounding this death.
The Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) was also notified, given that the event appears to have occurred in the workplace.
