Public sector | Agreement ratified for the 4,000 workers members of the SFPQ

Quebec public service workers, members of the SFPQ, ratified in a proportion of 63.3% the agreement in principle which had been reached regarding the renewal of their collective agreement.

These 4,000 workers, who work at the Ministry of Transport, in nurseries and in prison kitchens, are members of the Quebec Public and Parapublic Service Union (SFPQ).

They spoke electronically from April 19 to 22.

The largest accreditation unit of the SFPQ, that of 26,000 civil servants, has still not reached an agreement.

The general president of the SFPQ, Christian Daigle, said he was “convinced that this agreement will make it possible to continue the salary catch-up started during the previous negotiations.”

However, with 63.3% support, “we hear the message from the members who rejected this agreement. We are aware that there is a desire to quickly obtain the gains obtained and to carry out the work announced in the agreement as quickly as possible,” he said in a press release.

The President of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel underlined the acceptance of this agreement by the worker members of the SFPQ. “It will help improve the working conditions of 4,000 workers who work in the Quebec public service. »
