In a tumultuous season, the coming evening looks like a nice break for the PSG footballers. Les Parisiennes receive Bayern Munich at 9 p.m. this Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. A stadium where it is usually the boys who play, but tonight the PSG footballers are taking over and they are winning.
For the first time in its history, the women’s section of PSG will evolve in front of more than 25,000 paying spectators. The club has indeed distributed only 1,500 places, the rest of the tickets have been purchased. The previous record for spectators dates from 2017 when PSG received 19,912 spectators at the Parc des Princes for the reception of Fc Barcelona.
Return of Paulina Dudek to PSG, Bayern decimated
During his pre-match press conference, coach Didier Ollé-Nicolle announced that for the reception of Bayern Munich, PSG are registering the return of the Polish Paulina Dudek, pillar of the Parisian defense, but it must happen the services of his German midfielder Sara Däbritz, left to rest after the blow received in the head in Munich last week.
For its part, the Bavarian club is decimated by the Covid, with a seventh case recorded on Tuesday “It’s a disaster, the virus hits us right in the decisive week”, lamented coach Jens Scheuer during his press conference. As Viviane Asseyi will be suspended on Wednesday, only two outfield players with a professional contract will remain in the current state of the squad to sit on the bench.
Be careful walking though…
This meeting, the PSG approaches it in slightly favorable waivers thanks to its success 2 goals to 1 in the first leg. But the Germans of Bayern Munich, twice semi-finalists over the last three seasons, have not said their last word. In the first leg, the reduction in Klara Bühl’s score at the end of the match revived a suspense that Katoto, the PSG goal machine, thought he had extinguished with a double.
Important in this game as with the boys this season, the away goal rule no longer works. Instead, if the teams are tied, they will have to play two extra periods of fifteen minutes, then possible penalties.
In the other 1/4 finals: Wednesday 6:45 p.m. FC Barcelona – Real Madrid (3-1), Thursday at 6:45 p.m. Wolfsburg – Arsenal (1-1) and at 9 p.m. Lyon – Juventus Turin (1-2)
PSG – Bayern Munich, quarter-final second leg of the Champions League, match to follow in full on France Bleu Paris with Pia Clemens, Bruno Hermant (Culture PSG) and Bruno Salomon.
