Paris Saint-Germain sent a letter, dated March 11, to the president of the Commission of Inquiry for the Environmental Master Plan of the Île-de-France region (SDRIF-E) in order to find a site to build a new stadium, France Bleu Paris learned, Friday March 29, from a source close to the club, confirming information from Le Parisien.
This letter, signed by the secretary general of PSG, Victoriano Melero, constitutes an important step in the administrative process leading to the project of construction of a new enclosure within a radius of 20 km around Paris.
“It’s over now, we want to move out of the Park”
An approach which comes almost two months after the declaration of the president of the capital club Nasser Al-Khelaïfi confirming his intention to “move from the Park” of Princes. “It’s too easy to say now that the stadium is no longer for sale. We know what we want, we wasted years trying to buy the Park. It’s over now, we want to move on from the Park “, the Qatari president said. For months, the situation has been very tense between the club and Paris town hall regarding the sale of the Parc des Princes. Home of PSG since 1974, the Parc des Princes belongs to the City of Paris, which rents it to the Parisian club. Parisian leaders consider the acquisition of the stadium essential to carry out their expansion project to 60,000 seats, compared to around 48,000 currently.
