Aurore Bergé, Member of Parliament Together for the Republic (EPR) of Yvelines was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo”, Tuesday October 1, 2024. Dysfunctions in private daycare centers, general policy speeches by Michel Barnier, polemical remarks by Bruno Retailleau… She answered questions from Salhia Brakhlia and Jérôme Chapuis.
Malfunctions in daycare centers: “I didn’t lie!”
Aurore Bergé announces having filed “complaint for defamation” Monday, after the revelations of Victor Castanet in his book The Ogreswho accuses the minister of having prevented the holding of a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the dysfunctions of private nurseries.
“I changed the law so that large groups are controlled”underlines the former minister. “The rest is rumor and defamation. I didn’t lie!”assures Aurore Bergé.
General policy speech: “There is more to life than censorship”
“Any tax increase that would be at the expense of French households is obviously, for me, for the deputies of my group, a red line”insists Aurore Bergé before the general policy declaration of the Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, Tuesday at 3 p.m. “We must take responsibility for getting out of addiction to public spending”she says.
However, Aurore Bergé is not talking about censoring the government which includes several ministers from the presidential majority, “there is not only censorship in life, we are not rebellious France”.
Questioning the “rule of law” is a “scarlet” line
“The rule of law must be intangible”recalls Aurore Bergé. It’s a line “scarlet” for the MP who is waiting for the Prime Minister to speak on the subject during his general policy speech.
“It is unthinkable that anyone in government could question what the rule of law is”insists Aurore Bergé in response to Bruno Retailleau, the Minister of the Interior who indicated in an interview that the rule of law was not “neither intangible nor sacred”.
