A three-year investigation highlighted sometimes serious shortcomings on the part of private EHPADs. Among them, false advertising and promised services not provided.

For Lionel Sajovicanger still accompanies sadness when he thinks back to the death of his father Marcel in March 2020. He has the feeling of having been deceived by an EHPAD in the Paris region, whose service he considers disastrous. Yet he had confidently chosen him for his father. We see beautiful photos of clean premises that look like a super well-kept establishment“, he shows. But despite 3,900 euros per month, the reality was very different. They tell us a multidisciplinary team made up of a coordinating doctor, we have hardly ever seen it“, laments Lionel Sajovic.

The repression of fraud denounces these practices misleading commercial : a room with garden view which overlooks a car park, ultimately industrial “homemade” meals or ultimately not provided services. The report points out that “more than one out of two establishments has at least one nonconformity.“For many loved ones, advertisements must be more framed and answer essential questions: How many staff do you actually have available at the bedside residence level? Do you have the nurses who are supposed to be there?“, Claudette list BrialixPresident of the National Federation of Associations for the Elderly in Institutions and their Families. The repression of fraud tempers by explaining that serious breaches and lies about benefits remain rare.
