Princess Mary of Denmark – mother of four children: Prince Christian (16), Princess Isabella (15), Prince Vincent (11) and Princess Josephine (11) – is a very protective mother. In a relationship with the prince Frederik of Denmark (since 2004), both parents were outraged following the broadcast of a documentary aired on the Danish channel TV2 titled Herlufsholms hemmeligheder (The secrets of Herlufsholm) in French.
In an official press release, the royal couple announced his decision to withdraw the future King of Denmark, Prince Christian schooled in the prestigious Herlufsholm boarding school located 80 kilometers south of Copenhagen (Denmark). “We are deeply shocked by the reports that have recently emerged about Herlufsholm. As parents of a child attending the school, we expect the school to take action to rectify unacceptable conditions,” did they say. While she was to join this establishment at the start of the next school year, Christian’s sister, Princess Isabella, 15, will not join the Herlufsholm boarding school.
Cases of violence, sexual abuse and intimidation in Herlufsholm
According to the Danish channel TV2, “The headmaster and management of the prestigious private school Herlufsholm have become aware of a number of cases of violence, sexual abuse and intimidation among pupils. The latest cases date from this school year.” But that’s not all. Within this establishment, the new pupils would be beaten by the old pupils as soon as they arrived. What would have become a kind of “weekly ritual”. So it was a whole bunch of bad things that made Princess Mary and her husband Frederik of Denmark not send their children to school in Herlufsholm because of the school’s very bad reputation. The couple is currently looking for a new school for Prince Christian and his sister Isabella.
