Prime Minister Gabriel Attal must speak with 150 French people in the Rhône department on Saturday

The new head of government wishes to “feed” with these exchanges his general policy declaration, expected on January 30.

Meetings reminiscent of the “great debate” led by Emmanuel Macron, after the “yellow vest” demonstrations. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal is due to go to the Rhône department on Saturday January 20 to speak with around 150 French people, his services announced on Friday.

The new head of government will first attend the wishes of the mayor of the small town of Orliénas, 2,400 inhabitants, about twenty kilometers from Lyon, then he will have lunch without the press with local elected officials. In the afternoon, he will speak publicly for two hours with around 150 people, residents and mayors of the department, in Saint-Laurent d’Agny.

Gabriel Attal hears “to feed” his next general policy declaration of his meetings with political forces, with trade unions, employers and associations of elected officials, but also with the French on the ground. He will deliver this statement to Parliament on January 30.

A series of interviews with political leaders

Upon his appointment, Gabriel Attal made five trips in five days, from Pas-de-Calais to the flood victims at the Caen market (Calvados), via a college in Yvelines.

After bringing together his ministers on Thursday for work “college” upon his statement, the Prime Minister continued his talks. He received union leaders from the CFDT, CGT and FO, as well as representatives from Medef and CPME. He also saw the leaders of the Republicans, the president of the National Rally Jordan Bardella and the president of the centrist Union in the Senate, Hervé Marseille.

Gabriel Attal must still speak with representatives of La France insoumise, the Socialist Party, environmentalists at the start of the week, then the Communist Party on Thursday. He must also speak with associations of elected officials.
