Young people who benefit from child welfare find themselves deprived of this help once they come of age. They must then face great housing difficulties.

Louna shows her home with almost childlike pride. “The apartment is about 35 square meters, with a balcony”, details this young woman who suffered several refusals before finding this apartment. Placed in a home since she was 5 years old, she found herself left to fend for herself when she came of age, without housing or support from her educators. “At 18, it’s true that I have obligations that others don’t have, I have to be responsible (…). We have no room for error . There is no lifebuoy”, she indicates.

The young girl had to quickly find a little job to finance this apartment and go to law school, without help from her parents, as is often the case with students who need to finance their studies. On the other hand, she can count on the association of “Apprentis d’Auteuil”, which supported her financially and helped her in her efforts. Anna Wereythe director explains that many young people “find themselves homeless. But offering housing to a young person is to secure him”.
