This is a particular approach that is not necessarily suitable for shopping for everyday clothes…but it is very interesting for certain occasions such as the end of the year celebrations for example…It can allow you to buy a beautiful piece from a small brand at an affordable price.
Interesting savings
I took a tour of the brands that practice pre-ordering, we are around 30% off compared to the price applicable without pre-ordering…
It is true that it is still marginal…you have Alohas, Hoopal made in Biarritz, Asphalte near Bordeaux, the little Breton Kerners…you see that the companies are far from the big fashion industrythe prices are therefore higher but pre-ordering is a way to access quality… and to discover all these fashion talents in our regions, we often talk about them here, very recently again on your France Bleu Bourgogne with the Dijon brand “2dne chance” and its 100% recycled collection.
Pre-ordering is also more sustainable
This is an argument that is systematically put forward: it allows you to manufacture only what is necessary. It’s not luxury, in general in France it is said that 6 out of 10 clothes end up in recycling (in the best case) after one year, and that 7 out of 10 remain in the closet…
So, it’s true that we’re not too used to anticipating, we’re rather lulled into “immediately”…but isn’t that a good way to avoid compulsive buying and to rethink our relationship to fashion, saving money along the way? I’ll let you think about it!
