Postcard | Bruins secrets

(Brighton, Massachusetts) How do the Bruins manage to win all the time?

The question arises, and upon arriving at the Bruins training center, we understand that not everyone can have access to the answer. Nor anything else, for that matter.

When leaving, not just anyone can enter here. Like the FBI offices, the Bruins offices are very well guarded, in a suburban area called Brighton. It is here that the club in black established its headquarters in 2016.

When arriving, even the most experienced members of the prestigious hockey journalistic community must show their credentials. “Why are you here?” », asks the guard at the entrance, with a stern look. We answer that we are here to attend training. The guard lets us pass, but not without accompanying us step by step to the elevator, in case we feel like trying to sneak through a secret door in order to discover something.

Then, we go elsewhere, towards a kind of glass press gallery, which is perched over the ice rink, with the highway passing in the background. From there, we watch the Bruins skate in silence, and we have to wait for one of the 25 people from the club’s communications department to come pick us up and then accompany us to the locker room.

Above all, you must not get lost along the way. Every door is locked and you need a security card for everything. A colleague actually told us that he was lost around here for so long that the guys from KISS had time to do two farewell tours before we found him. This information could not be verified.

Then, we enter the large locker room to speak to the players, and we must exit accompanied by a club employee. Back downstairs, the same guard from earlier looks at us suspiciously.

We end up leaving, hoping not to have forgotten anything.
