A man was fighting for his life Saturday morning following a possible hit-and-run in La Prairie, Montérégie.
Authorities received a call shortly before 4:15 a.m. Saturday morning about a possible hit-and-run.
Arriving near the intersection of Saint-Henri and Sainte-Rose streets, the police located an unconscious man on the ground, said Lieutenant Daniel Cyr of the Roussillon Intermunicipal Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where there are fears for his life, added Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
An investigation has been opened to shed light on this event. The file has been transferred to the SQ’s major crimes section, which has sent reconstructionists to the scene.
