The Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) received significantly more political contributions in 2021 than other provincial political parties.

This is revealed by the financial reports of authorized political entities, made public on Wednesday by Elections Quebec.
François Legault’s party collected $778,761 from 9,317 voters between 1er January and December 31, 2021. By way of comparison, the CAQ raised $682,283 the previous year.
The Parti Québécois came second with contributions of $495,576 from 7,057 donors. The PQ is also doing better than it did in 2020, when it raised $393,603.
Québec solidaire received $332,540 in 2021, more than $75,000 more than the left-wing political formation had raised in 2020.
Éric Duhaime’s Conservative Party collected contributions totaling $269,195.
With contributions of $13,282, the Liberal Party of Quebec brings up the rear. Dominique Anglade’s party is the only major political party to have received fewer contributions in 2021 than in 2020. In 2020, the PLQ had received contributions of $38,010.
Overall, political entities reported revenues of over $15.6 million in fiscal year 2021, of which political contributions account for approximately $2.3 million. For the same period, expenditures by political parties amounted to just over $11.4 million.
