The members of the neighborhood with whom Le Journal spoke admitted that they had all preferred to keep their distance since the arrival of Isaac Brouillard-Lessard in the apartment building in January.

The man is portrayed as a violent and unstable person by neighbors who have had interactions with him.

Steal his cats

The manager of the place, who also preferred to remain anonymous, admits to having felt uncomfortable upon his arrival.

“I don’t trustais not from the start, he said. I have been in contact with him two or three times. Me, with him, it started badly. He said he had had his cats stolen by his neighbors. Finally, her cats were in her apartment. »

The latter also says that for two days, he had heard the individual screaming constantly in his accommodation.

“I didn’t dare approach me, he says. I could have gone there. »

Another neighbor met at the scene was greatly shaken by the situation and was already trying to take steps to move.

“I’ve seen him go out maybe four times since he’s been here,” he said. We could see that it was a case of high sanity. I heard the policewoman ask to call the ambulance and repeat that she was hit. »

Beat up a janitor

In addition to all the violence cases where he was found not criminally responsible, Isaac Brouillard-Lessard had pleaded guilty in April 2022 to assault charges.

The victim was a janitor of a dwelling where he had resided, in Trois-Rivières. The events had occurred in December 2021.

“The altercation would have been filmed and we would see Mr. hitting the janitor severely, even when he is on the ground”, we read in a decision of the Commission for the examination of mental disorders.

Despite his guilty plea, the Commission did not seek to see him again more quickly, while his next hearing was scheduled for next May.
