The Major Crimes Investigation Division of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has arrested two people in connection with an attempted murder that occurred in June in Pointe-aux-Cascades, in Montérégie.
Anne Pearson, 44, of Montreal, appeared on August 7 at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse and remains in custody. Juan Labelle, 31, of Mont-Tremblant, will appear today by videoconference, also at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse.
Both individuals face charges of attempted murder, discharging a firearm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
On June 10, police officers from the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges Est were called to report an injured man on rue de Montigny in Pointe-aux-Cascades. The 32-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He is now out of danger.
According to the SQ investigation, the man suffered injuries after being hit by a moving vehicle and by a firearm.
