After his hearing by an examining magistrate, Mathias Pogba was indicted for extortion in an organized gang and participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing a crime. Justice suspects him of having participated in extortion attempts against his brother Paul. Four suspects, aged 27 to 36, were also indicted and imprisoned, in particular for extortion with a weapon and kidnapping.
The case begins last March. Paul Pogba, player of the France team goes to Lagny-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne) in the Paris region. Friends would have dragged him into an apartment, threatened him with a weapon to demand large sums of money. Repeated threats in the following months, the blackmailers even go so far as to threaten the agent and the player’s mother. They also travel to Manchester and the training center in Turin. It is in the Italian city that Paul Pogba would have recognized his brother Mathias. Absent from the field following an injury, Paul Pogba has not yet reacted publicly to this affair.
