PMA (medically assisted procreation): the different methods

Many babies have been born thanks to assisted medical procreation techniques, called PMA, since the first birth in 1978. Since the bioethics law of 2021it is no longer only heterosexual couples, but also female couples and single women who can resort to MAP.

While the problems of infertility concern more and more couples, the PMA thus represents a real hope of being able to have a child, but what are the techniques covered by assisted reproduction today ? Until what age is it possible to benefit from it? What are the chances of being able to give birth to a child by ART? How many attempts can you make?

To know everything about the PMA today, the Dr Jimmy Mohamed and Geraldine Mayr receive the Professor Francois Olivennesobstetrician-gynecologist, great specialist in assisted reproduction and author of the book thousand and one babies, published by Grasset. He has contributed to the birth of more than 8000 babies! He reviews the various assisted reproduction techniques, the journey of these women and men who use it, its recent openness to single women and lesbian couples and the hopes raised by the latest advances.
