Plastic waste is now everywhere, whether in the ocean or on mountain peaks. So, how to fight against the omnipresence of this pollution?

In the Everest Valley, authorities banned the use of plastic bottles and bags four years ago. The prohibition is not respected. Associations organize waste collection operations, because the roof of the world has become a huge dump. Microplastics have been detected at more than 8,000 meters above sea level, the highest ever discoveredrts on the planet.

Germany recycles massively

In Rome (Italy), plastic collects in the river and mini-dams have been installed to prevent waste from flowing into the sea.It must be said that Italy produces a lot of plastic waste, on average 37 kg per year and per inhabitant, compared to 34.5 for other European countries”, says the journalist Raphaelle Schapira. Germany, on the other hand, sets up financial rewards to motivate citizen action. Thanks to machines, it manages to recycle 99% of its plastic waste, compared to 59% in France.

Germany recycles, of course, but remains the country that produces the most plastic in Europe.
