Pierce Brosnan in Black Adam | For the love of the game

James Bond, Thomas Crown, Remington Steele.

[…] He is DC’s most powerful wizard and one of its oldest characters. Its mythology appealed to me. And simply the joy of being immersed in that world on a daily basis while filming in Atlanta. Watching the film take shape and then wondering how it will end. »

The actor emphasizes that a strong bond of friendship has been forged between his colleagues, particularly those of the JSA. “I could be their father, even their grandfather… There are many transitions in life and, as an actor, you make them all the time. But there are more meaningful moments that are visible and physically felt. As the dean of the group, I didn’t really need to play. I am the age that I am, underlines Mr. Brosnan with serenity. Their joy and enthusiasm did me a lot of good. I wish them every possible success. »

In the film, the friendship between Kent Nelson and Carter Hall, aka Hawkman, is also very strong. “For me, this is one of the most interesting aspects of the story,” says Brosnan. The relationship between these two men, who have known each other for ages, is powerful. It’s hard to talk about, because you shouldn’t reveal too much, but the fact that they know their destiny amplifies the love they have for each other. »

“I really enjoyed working with Aldis. He gave everything. He was just phenomenal,” adds the 69-year-old actor.

When asked if he hopes to continue acting in action films, Mr. Brosnan replies that he “just likes to work as an actor”. “I’ve done some big movies that have been seen by a lot of people and some that haven’t really been seen. But the joy of being an actor is enough for me. Action, comedy, drama… the important thing is to play as many different roles as possible”, he concludes wisely.
