As amusing as it is, through his chronicles on RTL and in We are live, Philippe Caverivière remains very discreet about his private life. In an interview with Release and published on Monday May 30 in the form of a portrait, he decides to say a little more, especially about his love life. In a relationship for about fifteen years with an architect and decorator from Fréjus, like him, he seems to be spinning the perfect love. A very discreet relationship since the identity of his companion has never been revealed. He had already briefly raised the subject two years ago during an interview with Current wife, without giving too much detail. “She is very talented” he had simply said, explaining his profession. He had also made it known that he was not yet a dad, but that he had to think about it.
A troubled childhood
A subject that came back to the table during his interview with Releasewhen the journalist asked him if the fact of having rubbed shoulders with children sick with cancer, in particular his sister Sophie who died of it at the age of 7, posed a problem for him to become a father. “Maybe… I think I’m deformed from childhood”, he replied. A painful past that undoubtedly helped him to build character and move forward. He learned to take the blows, and in particular the death threats he may have received because of his chronicles. “Our profession is becoming lunar. You are not made to receive 800 hate messages in the same day”, he explained to Release.
But Philippe Caverivière has the experience to face this kind of disappointment, since the 50-year-old now has years of career behind him. You have to go back to 1993 to hear about him for the first time, and his association with the famous TF1 comedian Nicolas Canteloup, with whom he hosted shows at Club Med. He then worked for several radio and television programs such as Laughter and Songs and Can’t wait for Sundaybefore landing at RTL and France 2 for the show We are live by Laurent Ruquier, as a columnist. He notably co-wrote with Nicolas Bedos, Jean Dujardin, Stéphane Joly and Gilles Lellouche, the film The unfaithful released in 2012.
