Pension reform:If we pass without preparation, the CNR would be compromised”

“If we pass without preparation, the National Refoundation Council would be compromised”, believes François Bayrou about the pension reform. According to him, if the method of the passage in force is chosen by the government to pass the reform, “that would mean that we have not changed on the reforms”. Although he considers “that reflection will lead to a more balanced approach”he adds that in the event of a forced passage, the unions present at the CNR “will not stay around the table”. But for him, “if the unions leave, I fear that the future of the CNR will be compromised”.

Resignation of Julien Bayou: “There is something disturbing in all this”

“When you have no evidence, ejecting someone from public life” is “very worrying”, said François Bayrou, after the announcement by Julien Bayou of his resignation from his post as secretary general of EELV. The latter is targeted by accusations of psychological violence on an ex-companion.

“It is necessary to decide against violence”according to François Bayrou. “However, to make television or social networks the universal court on which we will propose that be condemned and ejected from public life [quelqu’un] without proof, there is something that does not make me happy.” François Bayrou refers to the accusation made on television by EELV deputy Sandrine Rousseau against Julien Bayou.

Legislative in Italy: Bayrou considers possible the arrival of the far right to power in France

“Never in history has an extremist orientation brought well-being, happiness and fulfillment to a people”, warns François Bayrou, after the victory of the post-fascist party of Giorgia Meloni on Sunday in the legislative elections in Italy. The president of the Modem considers possible the arrival of the far right to power in France “And this [serait] something extremely negative”according to him.

War in Ukraine: “We have a duty of asylum”

“I think we have a duty of asylum” in order to welcome Russian deserters, judges the president of the MoDem François Bayrou. Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Sunday that increases the penalties for Russian deserters or those who refuse to fight during mobilization. The text which entered into force on Saturday provides for up to 10 years in prison. “Whenever there are conscientious objectors within States, the duty of democratic countries is to welcome them”, continues François Bayrou. In total, Russia wants to mobilize 300,000 reservists to fight in Ukraine.
