Brazilian football legend Pelé has been released from the hospital in Sao Paulo, the facility informed Thursday (November 23). He was admitted there two weeks ago for chemotherapy treatment.
81-year-old Pelé “is in stable condition and will continue treatment for the colon tumor identified last September”, wrote the Albert-Einstein hospital in a press release. This does not specify the exact date of release of the three-time world champion.
The “king” Pelé had announced on December 9 to be hospitalized in this establishment, which usually follows him, in order to carry out “the last chemotherapy session” of the year 2021. The exact date of his admission has never been disclosed.
While the legendary footballer and his family announced a hospital stay of “A few days”, two weeks have actually passed, during which little information has filtered out about his real state of health.
Pelé had already been hospitalized in this hospital for a month between August and September. On September 4, she had a colon tumor removed from her routine examinations. Since then, Pelé had published several messages assuring that his state of health was improving.
