Paul Arcand’s press review | “Pelicot said: “I am a rapist like all these accused people””

During his press review on Tuesday, Paul Arcand comments on various current affairs topics, including the Mazan rape trial: the main accused was back in court.

Let us mention that Dominique Pelicot’s testimony was greatly anticipated in France.

Pelicot, 71, testified this morning. For a few days, we had been waiting for his appearance in court. He first thanked his wife for being so extraordinary and for helping him fight his demons and his personal trials. […] He said his wife didn’t deserve what he put her through all these years. He also said, “I’m a rapist like all these other accused people.”

Dominique Pelicot is accused of drugging his ex-wife, Gisèle Pelicot, to rape her and have her raped by dozens of men. Around fifty of them are being tried in this extraordinary case, which is emblematic of sexual violence.

For several days, the accused could not appear in court due to medical tests he underwent for health problems.
