Patrick Vieira is no longer Strasbourg coach

The 1998 world champion left the Alsatian club on Thursday after a season that ended in 13th place in the championship.

Patrick Vieira will no longer coach Strasbourg. Racing has announced the end of their collaboration “by mutual agreement”, Thursday July 18. “The entire club warmly thanks Patrick for his impeccable commitment. Indeed, in a season of transition, he was able to help young talents progress and always displayed exemplary behavior on and off the field.”we can read in the press release.

Bought last summer by the American consortium BlueCo, also owner of Chelsea, the Alsatian team finished in 13th place in Ligue 1 under the command of the 1998 world champion, aged 48. “We wish him every success in the future, he will always be welcome at the club,” wrote the management of the RCSA, represented by its president Marc Keller.

“A new coach will be appointed soon“, the press release concludes. LThe Strasbourg players resumed training on June 24, before traveling to Austria from July 3 to 14 for a first pre-season training camp. There, they conceded a draw against Wolfsberger (0-0) and two defeats against Munich 1860 (1-2) and Fenerbahçe (0-4).
