Former Montreal Impact captain Patrice Bernier will be inducted into the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame this year.
The national federation will make the official announcement on Tuesday.
The 42-year-old Quebecer was thus rewarded for a brilliant career in the field. The TVA Sports analyst wore the Montreal uniform in Major League Soccer from 2012 to 2017, totaling 15 goals and 25 assists in 151 regular season games. Working as a midfielder, he played more than 10,000 minutes on the Garber circuit.
Bernier also played in Montreal when the club was in the A-League, from 2000 to 2002. He then moved on to Europe, where he played games for Norwegian organizations Moss FK and Tromso IL. Also, he showed his talents in Germany and Denmark before returning to North America.
On the international scene, the Brossardois represented Canada more than fifty times with the senior team, from 2004 to 2017. Currently, he is involved, among other things, in the external development programs of the CF Montreal Academy.
