Pascale de la Tour du Pin reframes a columnist who dares to criticize “Bonjour” and Bruce Toussaint

It was a highly anticipated novelty, and one on which TF1 is banking heavily: every morning, Bruce Toussaint is at the head of Good morning, a new morning meeting which finds itself facing Pascal Praud, Maxime Switek and Thomas Sotto. If the first audience figures were encouraging, the following ones were disappointing, and the drop in audience proved to be brutal and difficult to digest. Every day, Bruce Toussaint receives a political guest and a cultural guest with whom his columnists debate. A team made up of 16 columnists in totalincluding Christophe Beaugrand, Ange Noiret, Anaïs Grangerac, Hélène Mannarino, Karima Charni and Monique Younès.

On C8 this Friday January 12, 2024, Pascale de la Tour du Pin wanted to look back on this complicated first week in her show PAF, which has also experienced some audience difficulties since its arrival last September. And the least we can say is that her three columnists were not kind to the one she worked with for several years at BFMTV. “For housewives, they are at 12% while the box average is at 11%. Which means that it is a lot of investment for, for the moment, not much even if the show is not bad, and I really like Bruce Toussaint” tackled Sasha Elbaz, who believes that Good morning has no “added value” compared to other morning shows installed for several years.

For Francesca Antoniotti, Bruce Toussaint “wants to copy TPMP”

Francesca Antoniotti and Ludivine Rétory were even more brutal, and felt that there was“too many columnists”around Bruce Toussaint: “The promise was so big, we heard so much about it, during the holidays I couldn’t take it anymore, it was Hello, Hello, Hello. I was expecting something sick, in the end, it was Hello Rassrah. For the moment, we were waiting for things, nothing is happening between the columnists (…) There are too many, 16 columnists, it’s too many” shot the ex-candidate of the star Academywho even accused Bruce Toussaint’s teams of wanting “copy TPMP”… Remarks that Pascale de la Tour du Pin wanted to qualify, recalling that she knew Bruce Toussaint well, with whom she collaborated for many years: “It takes time, it takes a lot of trouble to set up!”

Very complicated audiences, a free fall

It must be said that the audiences of Good morning are complicated… After a nice start at 512,000 viewers and 15.3% audience shareBruce Toussaint’s show had a brutal underperformance the next day, by losing more than 40% of its audience : only 292,000 viewers attended the show on Tuesday for only 8.7% of the public. The show regained some color on Wednesday, rising to 303,000 viewers (9.4%) before falling to 291,000 viewers this Thursday (8.9%). If the thunderous arrival of More beautiful life, even more beautiful at the beginning of the afternoon helped to energize TF1 and seriously weaken Faustine Bollaert and her magazine It starts today, Thomas Sotto and Marie Portolano are in no way in danger for the moment, and Bruce Toussaint’s audiences do not worry them … For the moment ? A few weeks ago, the heads of TF1 news announced that they would leave “three years” to Bruce Toussaint for his morning to settle in.
