The Nord and Pas-de-Calais are also on orange alert for a risk of rain-flooding.
A few days after flooding linked to Storm Ciaran, a “exceptional flood” threat near the coastal rivers Aa and Liane, in Pas-de-Calais, both placed on red alert by Vigicrue, Tuesday November 7. La Liane has been on red alert since Tuesday morning, 6 a.m., with Vigicrues indicating that “the level is rising downstream at Isques where widespread and very damaging overflows are underway.” The flood of the Aa “will spread downstream to Wizernes where widespread and very damaging overflows are expected in the second part of the day on Tuesday”further details the organization.
As for the red flood alert, announced Monday at 4 p.m. by Météo France, it will apply until Wednesday evening. Furthermore, five departments (North, Deux-Sèvres, Charente-Maritime, Charente, Gironde and Dordogne) are also on orange alert for this same risk.
