(Quebec) A fourth member of the Parti Québécois, out of a caucus of seven members, is leaving politics at the end of his mandate. The elected representative in René-Lévesque on the North Shore, Martin Ouellet, announces his departure at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The parliamentary leader of the Parti Québécois does so in his riding a few days after the end of the session of the National Assembly, but above all, the day before the unveiling of the CAQ candidacy.
Premier François Legault will be in Baie-Comeau on Wednesday to announce that the city’s mayor, Yves Montigny, will wear the colors of his party in René-Lévesque in the October 3 elections. He is the brother of Éric Montigny, professor in the department of political science at Laval University and former adviser to Mario Dumont at the Action Démocratique du Québec.
Martin Ouellet has been leaving the suspense hanging over his political future for a few weeks now. He was waiting for the end of the parliamentary work to give the right time.
Sylvain Gaudreault (Jonquière), Véronique Hivon (Joliette) and Lorraine Richard (Duplessis, on the North Shore) have already announced their departure from political life.
