Not far from Orly airport, in Val-de-Marne, there are car parks offering spaces at lower prices. However, they do not always comply with the law.

Near Orly airport (Val-de-Marne) there are dozens of discounted car parks. Bookable in a few clicks, they cost 10 to 15 euros per day compared to 40 euros on average at the airport. Five kilometers from the airport, one of them accommodates several hundred vehicles. Local residents are annoyed by the constant coming and going of cars. According to the mayors of two municipalities, these companies do not have all the necessary authorizations and do not pay all their taxes.

One of the elected officials says he received death threats from the manager of a car park. In early June 2024, the Évry court sentenced two of the companies that operate car parks in this area. Fines of several tens of thousands of euros and a ban on carrying out the activity were issued. The mayors also accuse the managers of not respecting safety standards. The managers are also said to have destroyed trees to enlarge the space.
