Departure now seems inevitable. Determined to leave the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain plans to build its future stadium at the Saint-Cloud racecourse (Hauts-de-Seine), a source close to management indicated on Saturday, May 18. AFP, confirming information from the newspaper The Team.
In February, the Qatari president of the club, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, announced that the departure of the Parc des Princes, which the town hall refuses to sell, was now inevitable. A decision reaffirmed to AFP on Saturday by this same source. Since then, PSG has been studying various options for sites where to build a new stadium, larger and adapted to its needs.
The Saint-Cloud racecourse is among the hottest tracks. It belongs to France Galop and not to the Paris town hall, as is the case for the Longchamp and Auteuil racecourses. The site, large enough to accommodate the stadium in addition to the horse races, has, for management, the advantage of offering a view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, specifies The Team.
