Pacioretty among the December stars

(New York) Auston Matthews of the Leafs, Max Pacioretty of the Knights and Thatcher Demko of the Canucks were named the NHL’s All-Star Players of the Month for December.



Matthews scored at least one point in each of his seven games during the month.

He led the league with 10 goals and had 14 points.

The 24-year-old American notably signed a fourth career hat trick, the 1er December.

Pacioretty amassed 10 goals and 16 points in 12 games, helping Vegas reach the top of the Pacific section.

The club showed a 10-3-0 record in December.

Pacioretty has scored three defining goals, tying for the league lead in this regard.

The 33-year-old American has collected at least one goal for seven straight games.

Demko was 7-1-0 and an average of 1.72, with a shutout.

The 26-year-old American helped Vancouver go 8-1-1 last month.

That includes seven straight wins after the arrival of Bruce Boudreau as head coach.

Demko made at least 30 saves in five games.

He also stopped 40 shots in a 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Dec. 4.
