Overturned diesel tanker exiting Highway 40

A tanker truck containing diesel overturned overnight from Friday to Saturday, spilling part of its contents on the highway 40 West ramp.

A little after 2 a.m., the driver of the truck may have fallen asleep in the direction of highway 640, in the direction of Charlemagne, and would have lost control of his vehicle according to the Sûreté du Québec.

Firefighters, traffic controllers and a pumping company arrived on the scene to secure the surroundings.

The ramp was closed in order to pump all of the diesel present on the road as well as in the truck in order to be able to tow it.

No evacuation was necessary, the driver of the tanker was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
