(Montreal) A 45-year-old worker was injured by a mechanical shovel on Friday morning in the Outremont district of Montreal.
Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), said the incident occurred in the early morning.
The individual was hit by a mechanical shovel and sustained lower body injuries. He was conscious during his transport by ambulance, but the SPVM had no other details on his state of health.
The SPVM was on site to assist the Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST). Collision investigators will assist with the CNESST investigation.
The CNESST had not yet responded to an email from The Canadian Press at the time of this writing.
