outgoing MP Yannick Favennec officially launches his campaign from Loiron-Ruillé

The outgoing UDI deputy for the 3rd constituency of Mayenne, Yannick Favennec, officially launched its campaign on Tuesday in Loiron-Ruillé, in the west of the department. The candidate therefore seeks a fifth term, he who has been a deputy since 2002. This is the start of his marathon of 99 public meetings planned across his constituency. They will begin on May 9 with four meetings organized during the day. “It is a respect for the inhabitants to go to meet them”advocates Yannick Favennec.

The mayor of Désertines, Bruno Lestas, will always be his deputy and the pair’s campaign slogan is “Near you, with you, for you”.

Proposals from the field

The candidate for his own re-election wishes to highlight “field proposals”, like keeping an eye on the situation at the Mayenne hospital, “we remain with our eyes open” he says. He also wants to develop sustainable mobility in his constituency. “With you” because he intends to deal with all the actors of the territory. Yannick Favennec proposes in particular to organize participatory legislative forums before each bill debated in the Assembly. “I have the desire, the energy, the passion for this territory, I love the inhabitants of this territory and above all I want to be able to respond to their daily problems”adds the outgoing deputy at the microphone of France Bleu Mayenne, “for this legislative campaign, I am going to make nearly 70 concrete proposals to them on themes as varied as health, solidarity, purchasing power and community life, these are themes that primarily concern the daily life of our fellow citizens”.

“From the moment I have the energy, the desire and the passion, I don’t see why I will change, after that it is the voters who will decide”, adds the deputy UDI. Among the 70 proposals of the outgoing deputy, act on the regulation of the installation of young doctors by forcing them to settle for three years in under-resourced areas, reduce the costs of the self-employed and farmers or act on the improvement of the remuneration of small pensions.

An application under the UDI label… but within the Horizons group

Close to former Prime Minister Édouard Philippehe carries a candidacy labeled UDI but he announces that he will sit, if he is re-elected, within the Horizons group, that of the mayor of Le Havre, to the National Assembly. For him, it is not incompatible with his party. “In UDI, there is Union of Democrats but above all Independents, so I want to keep this freedom of tone, freedom of vote and this independence but I also want to be loyal to the presidential majority, to the President of the Republic and to my formation of origin, then we’ll see what will happen”adds Yannick Favennec.

He absolutely does not want to join the Republic on the Move and even if on paper the future of his party is dark, for the moment he is not no news for him to enlist in Horizons. “That’s not what interests me at the moment”clarifies the outgoing MP, “I am presenting myself and my mandate, I only conceive it through the general interest and the interest of our territory, we will see how the National Assembly will be composed or recomposed”.

For the moment, in front of him, there is a candidate from the National Rally, one of Reconquest, one of the Workers’ Struggle and there will be a candidate of the new left-wing alliance, the New Popular Ecologist and Social Union. The other potential candidates have until May 20 to declare themselves.
