Wednesday January 12, the film “Ouistreham” will be in theaters. Inspired by the book by journalist Florence Aubenas, it tells about the daily life of cleaning ladies.

In Ouistreham, Juliette Binoche is Florence Aubenas, the famous journalist who put herself in the shoes of a cleaning lady working on the ferries, for the needs of her book entitled Ouistreham quay. “She runs to the right, to the left, doing two hours here, an hour there, in conditions of cold or exhaustion. Our society should really support them a little more. It’s really survival“, testifies Juliette Binoche, the main actress of the film.

For the sake of truth, the filmmaking team decided to call in real workers in a state of precariousness. On screen, they interpret their own lives, and show “the arduousness of the work“to the general public.”We are not flower pots. Often that’s it, we pass by, but not even a hello, nothing“, testifies Evelyne Porée, one of the cleaning ladies appearing in the film.
