Opinion – Find the error | The duty

On Sunday, the Ironman 70.3 race in Mont-Tremblant and the Groupe Copley World Triathlon in Montreal were canceled due to poor air quality, caused by raging forest fires in northern Quebec. Thousands of athletes are incredibly disappointed.

The unprecedented wildfire season Quebec is currently experiencing is yet another grim reminder of climate chaos (formerly known as climate change).

During our last bout of wildfire smog, Montreal hosted a Formula 1 race, the Canadian Grand Prix. This race, which produces a lot of greenhouse gas emissions, has not been cancelled.
