The air of Brooklyn hangs over Notre-Dame Street, especially since a “pasta” bar has just opened there: Lulu’s, a great place to remember for lovers of fresh, quick, but above all, good pasta. do.
It’s lunch time here and for good reason: open for barely a month, Lulu’s is already attracting hungry local students and young professionals with its generous take-out portions in a cardboard cup, at a low price and large quality. Here, everything is imported from Italy: from wheat semolina flour to the fresh pasta machine, including tomatoes and parmesan.

The concept is simple: you choose your noodle (rigati, campanelle, casarecce?), then your sauce. It is possible to create your own on site or indulge in classics (chicken tarragon, Tuscan chicken, pistachio pesto, as decadent as you like). Or: “Lulu’s creations” – taco cream, cheeseburger, etc. – surprising, but far from disappointing. Gourmet salads complete the short menu, displayed behind the “bar”. As for desserts, we are offered cannoli, Nutella cornetti or lemon cake from Délices Lafrenaie. To drink: bottles of wine and canned cocktails, for consumption on site or to take away.
It is to the couple Jimmy Petropoulos and Anthousa Siounis, Greeks of origin, but no less great lovers of Italian cuisine, that we owe this lovely concept inspired by many trips back and forth between Montreal and New York, where they smelled a vein: the “quick gourmet”, quality comfort food, but without breaking the bank, to take away (or not), open 7 days a week. Moreover, we are promised a terrace in the summer.
