Ontario man dies in collision in New Brunswick

(Cap-De-Shédiac) A collision between a car and a pickup truck with a trailer left one dead and several injured on Friday in Cap-de-Shédiac, New Brunswick.

The driver of the car made a mandatory stop on a service road before turning left onto Route 134. It was at this point that the driver of the pickup truck, who failed to brake in time, hit the car.

A passenger in the car, a 61-year-old man, died at the scene. The driver and two other passengers were seriously injured and taken to hospital. One of them would be “very seriously injured”, specifies the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They are all from Ontario.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

An investigation is underway, in collaboration between the RCMP and the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
