The man allegedly attacked a young person who was bullying his 13-year-old boy. The father was arrested shortly after the event, captured in a video obtained by TVA Nouvelles.

He appeared in court Tuesday afternoon and was charged with assault and threatening a minor. He was released with a series of conditions to respect.

In a new video obtained by TVA Nouvelles, we can see the son of the arrested man being thrown to the ground by his bully.

The event allegedly occurred at the end of classes, around 4 p.m., Monday afternoon. In said video, we can see the father grabbing a teenager by the collar, telling him that he is “going to bury him alive” and that he does not care about the consequences. The student was allegedly thrown to the ground by the father.

“Are you going to let go of him, boy?,” the father can be heard shouting to the youngster.

“I don’t care if I go to prison!” he then shouts.

The man was arrested by Sûreté du Québec police officers yesterday evening. He must appear today at the Joliette courthouse to answer charges of assault and threats against the 13-year-old victim.

He remains detained pending his appearance.

The man’s son was allegedly the victim of bullying on Friday at Pierre-de-Lestage school. The father would have wanted to avenge his child by attacking the bully.

Contacted by our journalist, the Samares School Service Center claims to carry out follow-ups with the school’s students.

“Considering the judicialization of the situation, the event will not be commented on. We are collaborating in following up the investigation with the Sûreté du Québec. The situation was quickly reported to the relevant authorities, triggering a rapid and effective response. Their intervention made it possible to guarantee the security of the perimeter of the establishment and to put in place the necessary procedures to deal with the situation adequately. We make sure to follow up with students and their families while collaborating with police authorities. We are actively engaged in the personalized monitoring of students; a vigil is carried out so that they receive the necessary support.”
