Like a wind of freedom, there is no need to wear the mask almost everywhere this Monday morning. Everyone can go back without, to the restaurant, to the cinema or even to the swimming pool. the sanitary pass is suspended. Olivier Obrecht, Deputy Director General of the Center-Val de Loire Regional Health Agency was the guest of France Bleu Berry, Monday March 14, to take stock of the lifting of health restrictions.
“90% of the population vaccinated”
But the mask and the pass are still compulsory in some places: “In places of care or in places of accommodation for the elderly or for people with disabilities”, recalls the deputy director of the ARS. Although the epidemic is on the rise again this week in France and in the region, there is no need to worry because “80% of the population is vaccinated, even 90% of the population of our region over the age of 12”, continues Olivier Obrecht. Especially since the hospital pressure continues to decrease.
According to the deputy director of the ARS, the Covid-19 is becoming “a winter virus, a bit like the flu virus or the winter rhinovirus virus”. “Which does not mean that the epidemic is over and that fragile patients should not continue to take precautions because the coronavirus remains a dangerous virus for them”, he specifies. Today, there are in the region 70 people in intensive care or critical care and more than 300 people hospitalized following Covid-19.
