Sunday, August 28, the Ukrainian counter-offensive continues in Kherson (Ukraine), a city taken by the Russians at the start of the war. Our special envoys were able to follow soldiers a few kilometers from the front line.
Sergei, a senior Ukrainian officer in the 59th brigade, agreed to take a team of journalists from France Télévisions to the combat zones, near Kherson (Ukraine). This strategic city was taken by Russia at the start of the war. “We have just received the coordinates of the enemy, we will find our soldiers on the spot. You will see how the Ukrainian artillery is in action”explains Sergei.
Out of nowhere, a tank comes to take his position. For these soldiers, time is precious: they only have a few minutes to target their Russian target, detected by drones. Then head to the rear base to find Sergei’s men and plan the rest of the operations. These soldiers hidden in the forest have been fighting for six months in precarious living conditions.
